The best table tennis players of all time are professional who earn a living playing table tennis. They require endurance, strength, agility and speed not to mention technical skills to compete with world-class players. There are also table tennis legends who made history with their accomplishments and continue to do so.

  • Timo Boll

Born in 1981, Timo Boll is one of the best table tennis players in the world. Boll made a name for himself when he won the Cadet team, Cadet doubles and Cadet singles titles at the European Youth Championships in 1995. After moving up to the juniors, he was the runner-up in the Junior singles in 1996. He later won the Junior Singles title in 1997 and 1998. His progress up the ranks didn’t slow down and he soon became one of the top players in Europe and the world. He has played in World Cup, Euro Top 12 and even the World Championships.

  • Michael Maze

Michael Maze gained the attention of the world when he defeated Werner Schlager (Austria) during the 2009 Liebherr European Championships in front of a massive crowd at the Porsche Arena in Stuttgart. This, however, doesn’t mean that his conquests began here. In 1996, he took home the Singles title and the silver medal in the Boy’s doubles final. Years later, he won the Senior Singles title at the 2004 Euro Top 12. The 2009 European Championships was where he had his first major international win in a career that had started more than ten years earlier. Unfortunately, he was soon injured after this victory and while the road to recovery was a long one, he had to retire in March 2016.

His highest achievement was making it to the World Championships in 1999. And while he didn’t claim the prestigious title, he has played in many events and won many titles during his long professional career. Examples include the European Youth Championships in 1999 where his team claimed the Cadet team title, the 1992 European Youth Championships where he snagged three titles, the Euro Top 12 in which he participated from 1995, and the World Cup just to name a few.

  • Daniela Dodean

Born in 1988, Daniela has many achievements as a pro table tennis player. She won the 2002 European Youth Championship Cadet title as well as the Junior title in 2005 and 2006. In 2008, she won the Under 21 Women’s Singles title at the Slovenian Open, Kuwait Open and Qatar Open. In 200, she won the gold medal together with her partner at the European Championship, marking her first big title.

Born in Yugoslavia but now a US resident, she is best known for her killer looks and sexy outfits, two things that are hardly associated with table tennis. Her father taught her how to play table tennis and by the age of 16, Biljana Golic was already making a name for herself. She represented her country in 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003 World Championships. And while she didn’t progress beyond the first few rounds of the competition, her leap to the success started when she moved to the US in 2003 and later became the brand ambassador of Killerspin.
